Hire a professional

It is crucial that you resist the temptation for an amateur to create your window to online world. Your business, and your customers deserve much better than this. Your website can make you a lot of money over the years, so make sure you don’t cut corners when investing in one.

Keep it uncluttered

Different people prefer different things in a website. One common requirement however and preference is always easy to use and uncluttered. This approach will not only deliver a website that will look good but your customers will thank you for it.

Quick to load

Make sure it loads quickly and gets straight to the point. Attention spans are a lot shorter on the web than in the real world and in no time at all potential visitors to your website will have clicked off yours and found another one.

Clear and concise text

Be clear and concise with your text and use plenty of headings. Avoid lengthy paragraphs – anything more than four to six lines and it probably won’t be read. Do not have text running across the entire length of the screen, use columns and boxes instead wherever possible.

Road test

Before you sign off on your website and it goes live to the entire world wide web, have someone who’s never seen it before and who has not been involved in its development take it for a test drive and proof read !
